Leaders are characters and personalities in the game who run your empire. They lead armies, command space fleets, build infrastructure, find buried treasure, etc., in accordance with their [skills]. Empires begin with three leaders, one of which is the primary leader. These leaders start with a variety of skills based on the original colony type and skills associated with their race. Things to know about leaders:
- Each leader potentially possesses a different combination of 3 traits drawn from [13 possible traits].
- Leaders are sent on different [types of Missions] where they can improve skill levels or acquire a new one as well as influence a wide variety of game mechanics.
- A leader’s ability to influence game play is based on respective skill levels.
- [Artifacts] are collected and played using leaders.
- Leaders will eventually die, but can have their life extended using a Virtue.
- A leader can be cloned using a Virtue
- The player can commission new leaders and decommission or retire others.
- The number of leaders in an empire is based on the population size.
